A/Prof Laura Vella
A/Prof Laura Vella is Head of Extracellular Vesicle Research at The Florey Institute and the University of Melbourne. Her work focuses on defining the molecular composition, cellular origin and functional roles of EVs, and translating these insights into EV-based diagnostics for neurodegenerative disorders. She is a leading expert in the field, with more than 20 years’ experience advancing understanding of the role and application of EVs in human health and disease. She currently serves as Chair of the International Society for Extracellular Vesicles Tissue EV Taskforce, Chair of the Research Integrity Adviser Network at the University of Melbourne, and adviser to biotechnology companies working in the EV sector.
